I understand that this thread is not of great importance nor will it be read by many but i need inspiration on my new upcoming mega-build.
It will be yet another ship, but it will be 2x bigger than old 'Titanic'. I need a good name for it and i need a age period. (1900s-modern day). The only good name i've thought of so far is RMS Revenge. I just need some sensible ideas please. :P Thanks for reading this thread. <3

USS Humongous
a modern day war ship
Riding on 2 gigantic side mounted pontoons ..
with a partially open bottom for dropping and picking up smaller gun boats.

Hmm that sounds good thank you. I'm definitely considering the modern day ship theme.

Bad idea,
your titanic was huge enough, a lot bigger than necessary.
Anything bigger than that would not look like a ship anymore.
Perhaps you should concentrate on detail and originality instead, because in Minecraft, size really doesn't matter.

Making a ship is pretty easy.
Arrow-head shaped walls with floors within.
If you want a challenge , try making a submarine.
A large diameter horizontal tube is more difficult to make.
It could be positioned so that only the top 25% is above water.
This would require making a deep coastline dock.
I can prep a site if you're up to the challenge.

The man's right; making a submarine is ridiculously hard (Creative is even ridiculous-draining that hull is going to be a bitch), but if you actually manage it, you'll be among the 20 or so people (Including me! :O) who actually managed to pull it off in an aesthetically cool manner.

The large diameter horizontal tube isn't hard. Unless you're not getting op help?
If you're hand building a thing larger than the titanic, then have a happy time with that one.
//sphere allows a height, depth, length and width option. just make the depth or width really long.
If it's a tube you're after, just take the length/width of a circle and copy paste it a few times over.

I would think that going with a submarine would be a very good idea, if you have the time to do it. it takes crap loads of time to drain the darn thing (the inside) but doesnt take too long to build the outside. but in addition to the sub, try adding a ton of details to it too.

you can drain stuff with the right wand/voxel commands in minutes.
