I never really did find out what happened to HL2RP. The server is down, and I noticed that "HL2RP discussion" teamspeak channel has been removed. But the "Garry's Mod HL2RP" forum section is still here.

So what happened?

I tried to get people to join, but they responded with "Why would I play HL2RP?" They were all more interested in DayZ at the time. DroolingPacman gave one of his friends admin and let him do what they wanted. DroolingPacman refused to listen to us when we told him to stop, so we booted them both out. Basically, it died due to lack of interest by the community.
